Buying a Tomos fatbike: Flexer, E-Cargo and EB 24

Most people know Tomos from mopeds. These days the brand also makes electric bicycles, and a few of them are on this page. We do not sell Tomos mopeds or scooters, only bicycles. What you see here are the models that do something extra: a fatbike with wide tyres, a longtail with room for someone on the back and the EB 24 as a city bike with a Bosch motor. They have a 250 watt motor and assist up to 25 km/h, so they are regular electric bicycles. You do not need a driving licence or number plate.

Tomos Flexer: low or high step

The Flexer is the Tomos fatbike, on 20 inch wheels with wide tyres, front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes. It comes in black and sand, with a low or a high step. Which one do you pick? If you get on and off a lot, for example at school or the supermarket, the low step is easier. The high step feels sportier. The Flexer is not always available, and that differs per colour and frame. If the version you want shows as sold out, look at another fatbike in our range or ask customer service when it will be back. We do not estimate that ourselves, because it depends on the supply.

Tomos E-Cargo longtail: room on the back

The E-Cargo is a longtail, a bike with an extended rear section. You can put a child seat, a crate or side bags on it. According to the specifications it is suitable for three people, on 20 inch wheels, with front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes. The advantage over a cargo bike: it is no wider than a normal bike, so you fit through a narrow gate and into a regular bike shed. A downside is the weight. A longtail is not something you just lift up a kerb. The E-Cargo comes in white, red and black. You will find longtails from other brands in our longtails section.

Tomos EB 24: city bike with a Bosch motor

The EB 24 is listed here, even though it is not a fatbike. It is an electric city bike with a low step, a Bosch mid-drive motor, a removable 500 Wh battery and nine gears. A mid-drive motor responds to how hard you pedal, which feels calm when pulling away. Looking for more models in that direction? Tomos has a whole EB series of city bikes. They are side by side on the Tomos e-bikes page, in different price ranges and colours. Like the EB 24, the EB 25 has a Bosch mid-drive motor.

Fatbike, longtail or city bike?

The choice mainly depends on what needs to come along. Mostly riding yourself on a sturdy bike with wide tyres that feels stable? Then the Flexer fits. If a child or a full shopping bag has to come along, the E-Cargo is handier because of its long rear section. If you mainly ride a fixed route to work and want to ride light and quick, a city bike from the EB series suits you better. A fatbike weighs more and rolls heavier than a bike with narrow tyres.
