Black Friday mini fatbikes⁷

Buying a mini fatbike on Black Friday: mind the size

A mini fatbike is a smaller version of the regular fatbike, with smaller wheels and a lower seat. Around Black Friday many parents look at one as a holiday present. What matters most is not the discount but whether the bike fits the rider. This page shows the mini fatbikes that are reduced right now. Currently these are versions of the V20 Pro Mini in several colours, with 16 inch wheels, a low step-through and a 250 watt motor that assists up to 20 km/h. The range changes, so colours can sell out.

Does a mini fatbike suit the rider?

Smaller wheels mean a lower seat, so a smaller rider reaches the ground more easily, which helps when stopping and pulling away. If the rider grows fast, check that the saddle and handlebar adjust far enough. The rider height a model is meant for is on the product page. If in doubt, come by and let the rider sit on it; that tells you more than a size chart.

A mini fatbike is not a toy. It is an electric bike that assists up to 20 km/h. Agree on where it will be ridden, start on quiet routes and begin on the lowest assistance level. A helmet is not required on this bike in the Netherlands, but it is sensible, especially for young riders.

Low step-through and fat tyres

The low step-through lets you get on without swinging your leg high, handy with a backpack. The wide tyres give grip and absorb kerbs and rough roads better than narrow ones. The trade-off: a fatbike is heavier than a regular children's bike. A fatbike also stands out at the school bike rack, so a sturdy lock and a fixed parking spot are no luxury. A removable battery can be charged indoors. Range depends on the rider's weight, the wind and the assistance level.

The V20 Pro Mini is listed here in several colours, including black, blue, pink, rose gold, light grey and green, plus a version with spoked wheels. The technology is the same per colour, the stock is not. If a colour matters, for example for a present, check on the product page whether it is available.
