The Fiido C11 is the base version of Fiido's city bike, next to the C11 Pro. You get an e-bike on 28 inch wheels with a low step, a suspension fork, hydraulic disc brakes and seven Shimano gears. According to Fiido it weighs 24.5 kilos including the removable 499 Wh battery. Most questions are about the difference with the Pro, so that is where we start.

Difference between the Fiido C11 and the C11 Pro

The Pro has a torque sensor that measures how hard you pedal. The C11 uses a speed sensor that only registers that you are pedalling. You notice that when pulling away and at junctions: the Pro comes along gradually, the C11 kicks in in steps. Otherwise they are very similar. Both have the same 499 Wh battery, a 250 watt motor with 55 Nm, hydraulic disc brakes and 28 inch wheels. If you mostly ride long straight stretches, the difference is small and the C11 will do.

Range of the Fiido C11

Fiido states up to 90 kilometres. That figure belongs to a low mode on flat terrain. In a higher mode, with a headwind and luggage, you will get less. The battery is removable, so you can charge it indoors from a normal socket while the bike stays outside.

Is the Fiido C11 legal in the Netherlands?

Yes. The motor delivers 250 watts and the assistance stops at 25 km/h. On the handlebar there is a walk assist that pushes up to 6 km/h while you walk next to the bike, and that is allowed. That makes it a regular electric bicycle: no number plate and no driving licence. Better not tune it, because then it no longer falls under the rules for an electric bicycle.

Low step on 28 inch wheels

Large wheels with a low step are less common than you might think. Usually you choose between easy mounting and rolling quickly. With the C11 you do not have to. The suspension fork with 40 mm travel absorbs speed bumps and kerbs. The rear is unsuspended, which keeps the weight down. The hydraulic disc brakes stop you with little lever force, even in the rain.

Who is the Fiido C11 for?

For anyone cycling to work or school who wants a complete e-bike without a torque sensor. According to our specifications the frame fits riders from about 1.70 to 2.05 metres, with a maximum total weight of 120 kilos. The bike is for one person and made for paved roads. If you want to carry children, a longtail or cargo bike is a better choice.
