The pedal assistance operates in three levels up to 25 kilometers per hour, with the higher mode intended for use on private property. That is the most important thing to know, because it determines where and how you can use this scooter.

Where and how you may ride

In the Netherlands, electric scooters are only permitted on private property unless they have been approved by the RDW and have a license plate. The H11 falls into the first category, and the manufacturer states that the higher assistance mode is explicitly intended for use on private property. So consider this a scooter for a campsite, holiday park, business premises, or private grounds—not for commuting to work on public roads. That may sound like a detail, but it matters on your daily route. Small differences like this become more significant the more often you use the scooter.

Two motors and steep hills

Peak output is not the same as continuous power, by the way: it is what the motors can deliver briefly when accelerating or climbing.

More than 1,200 watt-hours

The 52V battery with 23.4 amp-hours provides more than 1,200 watt-hours, and the stated range is 90 to 100 kilometers. That is exceptionally high for a scooter and means you can ride around a property for an entire week without thinking about charging. A full charge takes approximately six hours. The battery is removable, so you can take it indoors separately instead of moving the entire scooter.

Suspension, tires and brakes

There are dual shock absorbers at the front and rear, which really makes a difference on 10-inch wheels: small wheels transmit every bump all the way to your knees. The 10-inch pneumatic tires have puncture protection. Braking is handled by mechanical disc brakes at the front and rear, which bring you to a controlled stop even on wet surfaces. The frame is made of aluminum alloy and the scooter has IP54 protection, so getting caught in a rain shower is no problem. The lights are permanently mounted on the scooter and run on the main battery. When it is delivered, check the brake lever reach; you can adjust it in a few seconds. The rear light has a brake-light function, so anyone riding behind you can immediately see when you slow down.

Who is the Hitway H11 for?

For use on a large enclosed property where distance and changes in elevation matter. Thirty-eight kilos is heavy, even for an e-scooter: it can be folded, but carrying it takes two people—or you simply do not do it. The 4.2-inch display shows your speed, riding mode and battery level. If you are looking for something lightweight to take in a car, this is the wrong model, and you would be better off with a more compact scooter. Anyone who rides it daily will notice these choices sooner than someone who only takes an occasional ride. After delivery, you have fourteen days for a test ride.
