The black-and-blue JOBOBIKE Robin Pro is the coolest of the three color combinations: a black frame with blue accents that looks more understated than the gold-colored version. Beneath the paint, it is the same bike: an LG battery with 960 watt-hours and a stated range of up to 180 kilometers, 26-inch fat-bike tires, front and rear suspension, hydraulic brakes, and eight Shimano gears. A 960-watt-hour battery

That is exceptional for a fat bike, where 600 to 750 watt-hours is normal. The cells come from LG, a manufacturer whose products you also find in tools and cars. Is the JOBOBIKE Robin Pro legal in the Netherlands?

Yes. With a 250W motor, assistance up to 25 kilometers per hour, and no way to start moving without pedaling, this is an ordinary electric bicycle under Dutch regulations. No license plate, driver's license, or helmet is required. The bike's substantial size and long range have no legal significance. If you modify it to go faster, its vehicle category changes, you will be breaking the law on public roads, and your warranty will be void immediately.

Brakes and gears

Hydraulic disc brakes at the front and rear, suitable for a 35 kg unladen weight. They offer finer modulation than mechanical brakes and maintain their performance in wet weather. The eight Shimano gears provide more range than the usual seven, which is useful with large wheels because you can shift down further when starting from a standstill. A rear rack comes installed as standard, so you do not need to order anything extra for your luggage before setting off. Hydraulic brakes need bleeding occasionally, but otherwise require little maintenance. The rear light also functions as a brake light: it shines more brightly when you brake, making it easier for following traffic to see that you are slowing down.

For riders approximately 1.60 to 1.95 metres tall who want to cover long distances on a fatbike in a subdued colour scheme. The frame is 48 centimetres and the step-through height is high. Note the maximum total weight of 120 kilos: that is tight for a bike of this size, so a heavy rider plus luggage will quickly reach the limit. Carrying two people is not permitted on this model.
