White is the lightest version of the JOBOBIKE Transer, and that mainly changes how large the bike looks. In the dark, an extended rear frame becomes one solid block; in white, the silhouette breaks up and the bike appears less bulky in front of your home. A practical drawback: light-colored paint shows street dirt more quickly. Everything else is the same: a 200-kilogram load capacity, a 750-watt-hour battery, hydraulic front and rear brakes, and a low step-through.

Two hundred kilograms of load capacity

That includes you, your passengers, and your luggage. For a family with one or two children, this means you do not constantly have to calculate whether you are still within the limit. With longtails that have a maximum capacity of 120 kilograms, an adult and two children already put you at the limit. Range and the battery

There are two 48V, 13-amp-hour batteries, providing a stated range of more than 120 kilometers combined. That applies to riding without a load on flat terrain. For the daily trip to school and work, that is still more than enough. A full charge takes four to six hours, so plug it in in the evening and you will be ready to go the next morning. The stated range is always a test value, so expect somewhat less in practice. Do not leave the battery outside in freezing temperatures, as this reduces its capacity over time. There is room for an extra battery, which significantly extends the range for those who travel long distances.

Low step-through and riding with children

With children on the back, you don't want to have to swing your leg over a loaded rear, and with a low step-through frame, you don't have to: you simply step through it. The hydraulic disc brakes are fitted front and rear, which is essential with this weight. Once loaded, you quickly exceed one hundred kilos, and you want to be able to stop without having to squeeze the brake lever with all your strength. There is suspension at the front; the bike has no rear suspension.

What 49 kilos means

On the road, you barely notice the weight because it sits low and the motor does the work. When stationary, it's a different story: putting it on the stand, pushing it backwards into a shed, or lifting it over a threshold takes strength. A longtail of this size should be stored on the ground floor, preferably without a step. Don't expect to simply put it in a car either; this is a bike that stays where you put it.

Who is the white JOBOBIKE Transer for?

For families who transport children, don't have room for a cargo bike, and want a bike that doesn't look like a dark block outside the front door. The recommended height is approximately 1.50 to 1.95 metres with a 50-centimetre frame. Note two things: it only has front suspension, so the rear clearly feels cobblestones more, and white paint requires wiping down more often than a dark finish.
