Charging takes five to seven hours, so you do it overnight. The stated range is always a test value, so expect somewhat less in practice. Do not leave the battery outside in freezing temperatures; doing so will reduce its capacity over time.

Brakes and weight

Hydraulic disc brakes are essential on a cargo bike that can weigh nearly 150 kilos when loaded. You want to be able to stop in a controlled manner without using your whole hand, especially with children in front. You barely notice its own weight of 57 kilos while riding because it sits low, but you notice it all the more when stationary: putting it on the kickstand and pushing it backward into a shed takes strength. It has no suspension, so you will feel cobblestone streets. Hydraulic brakes occasionally need bleeding; otherwise, they require little maintenance. The lights are permanently mounted on the bike and run on the main battery.
