The Qreate City Air Pro is the more fully equipped version of the City Air, with a larger battery and a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor. Together, these two features change how the bike rides and how far you can go. You’ll also find Qreate at our store under the name A-Spadz, so both names refer to the same bikes. Other than that, this is a city bike with 27.5-inch wheels, a low step-through frame, hydraulic brakes, and a color display.

Difference from the regular City Air

Two things. The battery increases from 13.5 to 15 amp-hours, raising the stated range from 60 to 90 kilometers. The sensor also changes: the Pro has a torque sensor that measures how hard you pedal, while the standard version uses a cadence sensor that only detects that you are pedaling. You feel the difference at every traffic light. The Pro engages gradually, while the regular version kicks in in blocks. This is noticeable in city traffic with frequent stops. It may sound like a detail, but it adds up on your daily route.

Range of the City Air Pro

Ninety kilometers according to the specifications, with a 36V, 15 amp-hour battery. That figure applies when using a low assistance level on flat terrain. At a higher level with luggage, you’ll get around sixty kilometers, which is still more than a week of riding for most commuters. The battery management system distributes the load evenly across the cells, which benefits their lifespan. You can charge it from a regular power outlet, so no special installation is needed. Do not leave the battery outside in freezing temperatures; this helps preserve its capacity in the long term.

What a torque sensor does

A torque sensor measures the force you apply to the pedals and adjusts the motor accordingly. As a result, the bike responds to your own effort instead of the motor engaging as soon as the pedals start turning. When pulling away and at intersections, this feels more natural and safer because you don’t get an unexpected push. You notice the difference less on longer straight stretches. Brakes, wheels and display

Hydraulic disc brakes at the front and rear are not standard in this class, and you notice the difference in the rain and on a descent. It has front suspension, while the rear is unsprung, which keeps the weight down. The 27.5-inch wheels roll efficiently over longer distances, while the low step-through frame makes mounting easy. The 2.4-inch color display shows your speed, riding mode and battery level. Seven Shimano gears provide ample range for flat terrain. The lights are permanently mounted on the bike and run on the main battery. The bike starts with an NFC card, meaning there is no ignition lock that can be forced.

Who is the Qreate City Air Pro for?

For commuters who ride through the city every day and notice the difference between a torque sensor and a cadence sensor. The maximum total weight is 150 kilograms, leaving plenty of capacity for luggage. Two things to consider: it only has front suspension, so you will feel more on persistently poor road surfaces than with full suspension, and the bike is designed for one person. For carrying children or large grocery loads, a longtail or cargo bike is a better choice.
