The battery is removable, so you can charge it indoors while the electric bike remains in the shed or folded up in a storage room. The stated range is always a test value, so expect somewhat less in practice. Do not leave the battery outside in freezing temperatures; this will reduce its capacity over time.

Folding with full suspension

Combining a folding hinge with a suspended rear swingarm is technically difficult because both introduce weak points into the frame. Mapfour therefore uses a sturdier construction, which accounts for the 34 kilograms. It can fold, but it is not easy to carry: think of it as a bike you slide into a car trunk or store more compactly. In return, you get comfort that is rarely found on a folding fat bike. Hydraulic brakes occasionally need bleeding; otherwise, they require little maintenance. The lights are permanently mounted on the bike and run on the main battery.

The brake pads and discs use standard sizes, so they can be replaced at any service point. Hydraulic brakes need bleeding occasionally, but otherwise require little maintenance.

What to consider: 34 kg is too much to lift every day, and light-colored paint shows road dirt more quickly than a dark finish. If you are looking for a lightweight folding bike for the train, you will find better options elsewhere. For commuting within built-up areas, this equipment is more than sufficient.
