While the more expensive models have 626- or 748-watt-hour batteries, this model offers a more modest range with the brakes of the higher-spec versions. Charging takes four hours, which is short for this capacity and means you can recharge during the day without having to wait all evening. The stated range is always a test value, so expect somewhat less in practice. Do not leave the battery outside in freezing temperatures, as this reduces its capacity over time.

Hydraulic brakes on the entry-level model

The fact that the EB 03 has hydraulic disc brakes while the more expensive EB 11 and EB 12 use rim brakes is notable. Hydraulic brakes require less hand pressure, offer finer modulation, and do not lose any of their effectiveness in the rain because they grip a separate disc. On a twenty-five-kilogram bike, this is comfortable rather than essential, but it does make a difference in wet weather and on descents. Hydraulic brakes need bleeding occasionally; otherwise, they require little maintenance. The lighting is permanently mounted on the bike and runs on the main battery.

The recommended height for both is approximately 1.70 to 2.05 meters.

Who is the Tomos EB 03 for?

For people who take short to medium-length rides and consider good brakes more important than a large battery. At 25 kilograms, it is reasonably easy to handle for a bike with 28-inch wheels. The maximum total weight is 150 kilograms, leaving plenty of capacity for luggage. What to keep in mind: 360 watt-hours is limited. If you ride 20 kilometers or more every day, you will be more comfortable with a larger battery. For commuting within built-up areas, this equipment is more than adequate. If you are unsure about the size, measure your inseam and compare it with the stated values.
