How many children can ride on the back

Two. The extended rear frame is built for this, and the maximum total weight is 180 kilos, including you and your luggage. It works best with children who can sit and hold on by themselves. For a small child, you can install a child seat. As your children grow, you slide the cushions backward, and the same bike remains useful, saving you from having to make a second purchase in the long run. You can order a windscreen, footrests, and support bars separately. Brakes and weight

Hydraulic disc brakes, and you really need them here. Loaded with two children, this bike can easily weigh twice as much as a regular city bike, so you want to be able to stop without having to squeeze the brake lever with all your strength. The bike itself weighs 33 kilos. You barely notice that while riding because the weight is low down; when stationary, you notice it much more: putting it on the stand and pushing it backwards into a shed takes strength. A sturdy double kickstand is therefore even more important on this type of bike than on a regular e-bike.

Low step-through frame and city riding

Thanks to the low step-through frame, you step through the frame instead of swinging your leg over a loaded rear end. With children on board, that makes a difference every time you set off from a traffic light. There is suspension at the front and rear, making riding over cobblestones more comfortable for everyone on the bike. The motor delivers 250 W and provides assistance up to 25 kilometres per hour without a throttle, so under Dutch regulations this is simply an electric bicycle.

Longtail or cargo bike

A cargo bike offers better protection from rain and wind, and small children sit lower and more sheltered. On the other hand, it is wider, requires more storage space and handles differently from what you may be used to. The Wonder Longtail handles like a regular bicycle and fits in a standard bike rack. If you live in an apartment or have a narrow hallway, that is often the deciding factor. If you are unsure, try them one after the other. Also think about where you park it at school, because a longtail can just fit in a rack where a cargo bike would have to be left outside.
