Green is the color that makes the V20 Comfort Pro look least like a standard fat bike. With a step-through frame and integrated battery, it looks more like a city bike than a cross-country model. This model is also known as the D50 at QM Wheels, so you’ll come across both names when searching for it. The technology and equipment are the same as in the other colors: 250W motor, dual suspension, hydraulic brakes, and a low step-through.

What makes the Comfort Pro different

The step-through design. On a regular V20, you swing your leg over a high frame; here, you step straight through it. You notice the difference as soon as you have luggage on the back, are wearing a long coat, or want to spare your hips. The second difference is the battery, which is integrated into the frame instead of being visibly mounted on it. This gives the bike a cleaner look and better protects the battery from rain. The rest is familiar: 20-inch tires, dual suspension, and seven gears.

Range and charging

The frame contains a 48V, 15Ah battery, providing approximately 60 kilometers of range according to the specifications. That figure applies with average assistance on flat terrain without a passenger. With someone riding on the back or when using the highest assistance level, the range will be lower. A full charge takes four to six hours, so you can charge it overnight. Because the battery is built into the frame, you take the electric bike to the power outlet instead of bringing the battery indoors. A battery lasts longer if you avoid routinely draining it completely and charge it indoors during the winter.

Riding with two people

Two people can ride on it, with a maximum total weight of 150 kilograms. The low step-through is especially useful here: with a passenger on the back, getting onto a high frame is the most difficult moment of the ride. What you’ll notice is that the bike steers more heavily at low speeds and the range drops noticeably. For trips to school or the sports club, that’s not a problem. If you regularly ride long distances with two people, you’ll want a larger battery.

Brakes, suspension and tires

Hydraulic disc brakes at the front and rear are exactly what you want with a 38-kilogram bike and two riders. They offer finer modulation than mechanical brakes and maintain their performance in wet weather. There is suspension at the front and rear, working together with the wide 20-inch tires to absorb speed bumps, tram tracks and loose paving stones. Seven Shimano gears are more than enough for the flat Netherlands. The lights are permanently mounted on the bike and run on the main battery. The brake pads and discs use standard sizes, so they can be replaced at any service point.

Who is the green V20 Comfort Pro for?

For riders approximately 1.50 to 1.95 meters tall who want the V20 without a high frame, in a color that stands out without being flashy. One thing to keep in mind: you cannot carry 38 kilograms upstairs, so the bike should be stored on the ground floor. If you mainly ride long distances on asphalt, an e-bike with larger wheels will roll more efficiently. Within the city and on short rides, this version really comes into its own. For commuting within built-up areas, this equipment is more than sufficient.
